Join us for a morning of education and exploration on the farm! Enrichment Days are a great opportunity for youth to get hands-on experience with livestock, and have a fun time while doing so. We believe that one of the most important things we can do is help prepare our youth to be better consumers, stewards of the land, and to give them a little more gumption.
Our Homeschool Enrichment Days are set up for parents to drop off in the morning and pick up in the afternoon. However, if you have a child that will be uncomfortable without their parent, you're welcome to tag along. Please note that when traveling to different parts of the farm, parents may have to drive their own vehicles depending on the space available on our Tour Wagon.

Prehistoric Tools & People of Southwest Georgia
Saturday, April 25th | 9:00am - 3:00pm
Many people who grew up in Southwest Georgia have picked up arrowheads, spear points, work tools and other stone artifacts left behind by the indigenous people who came before us. These objects speak to us through the silence of centuries and tell us of the lives of people who loved this land and lived with it in harmony for more than ten thousand years. This class will let these stone tools tell us the stories of the people who made them and the ways of life that the tools made possible.
We will focus on four cultural periods that archeologists use to describe the prehistoric cultures of southeastern indigenous people: Paleo 15,000 B.P. - 9,000 B.P., Archaic 9,000 B.P. - 3,000 B.P., Woodland 3,000 B.P. - 1,000 B.P., Mississippian 1,000 B.P. - 600 B.P.
We will display artifacts from each period that were collected in southwestern Georgia. We will talk about how they were made and how they were used. Those who wish to get a hands-on feel for the roles of these tools will have the opportunity to try flint knapping, spear throwing and games played with gaming stones. Participants will leave the course with a richer understanding of the artifacts, culture and lifestyles of those who lived before us in this land that we love.
